IV 101
WHAT IS IV hydration therapy and how does it work?
IV stands for “intravenous“, meaning into the vein, We offer IV hydration using a delicate catheter directly inserted into your vein, ensuring faster and more effective hydration compared to simply drinking water. The procedure begins with a tiny needle puncture, and once we have accessed the vein, the needle is removed, leaving only a soft plastic catheter in place. IV therapy involves the direct administration of fluids, vitamins, minerals, and sometimes medications into your bloodstream using this catheter.
With the IV bag positioned above you, gravity gently funnels the solution into your system. One of the main benefits of IV therapy is the immediate and complete absorption of vitamins. When consumed orally, only around 20% of vitamins are absorbed due to the digestive process. However, Your body is able to absorb almost all of the nutrients received by IV therapy since it bypasses the laborious and time-consuming digestive process and goes right into your blood stream where they can go to work right away. The end result is that you feel better faster! it’s essential to note that our IV services are designed to complement, not replace, your regular oral hydration.
IS IV THERAPY SAFE and what are the side effects?
All vitamins we use are FDA-approved and undergo rigorous testing. Every IV is delivered by a qualified registered nurse under the supervision of a medical director. Before initiating IV therapy, we ensure a thorough review of the client’s health history. Generally, side effects from our IV drips are either non-existent or very mild. Occasionally, you might feel some discomfort, see bruising, or notice itching, inflammation, or redness around the injection site, which can persist anywhere from a few moments to a few days. It’s worth noting that genuine allergic reactions are exceedingly uncommon. However, if you experience symptoms like throat swelling, a widespread itchy rash, a severe drop in blood pressure, or any signs suggestive of anaphylaxis after receiving an injection, it’s crucial to seek emergency medical care immediately. If you are aware of any allergies to the ingredients we use, we strongly recommend avoiding those particular treatments.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I UNDERGO IV THERAPY?
- Tailored Approach: The ideal frequency for IV therapy varies from individual to individual. We believe in personalizing treatments to align with your unique requirements. For those seeking preventive care and wellness, it’s advisable to have two IV drips monthly to compensate for any vitamin shortfalls.
- Dependent Factors: The regularity of IV treatments hinges on various elements, including the specific composition of the infusion and your wellness objectives. Some infusions might be suitable every few weeks, while others may be best spaced out over months. Your healthcare professional will provide guidance to ensure your treatments are both effective and safe.
- Individual Assessment: The optimal treatment frequency can differ greatly; what works for one person might not be the same for another. Whether you’re considering an IV or an IM booster shot, the recommended frequency can be influenced by your current health status, pre-existing medical conditions, and your personal goals. All of this will be thoroughly discussed during your appointment. As a general guideline, we don’t administer more than three IV infusions within a 72-hour span, and no more than two liters of fluid should be introduced in a 24-hour window.
- IV Limitations: IV drips, containing active medications, are primarily intended for treating minor ailments. Their use is determined by prescribing practitioner after a comprehensive evaluation. It’s important to note that recovery infusions are limited to a maximum of three sessions in a month.
Is a blood test necessary?
Most of our treatments, like those with vitamins B and C, don’t require a blood test since they’re water-soluble and excess amounts are naturally expelled. However, for vitamin D treatments, a recent blood test (within the last two weeks) is essential due to its lipid-soluble nature. Before any treatment, we always conduct a brief medical consultation to gauge your health status.

Exploring the Advantages of NAD+ Supplementation
NAD+, or Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, is fundamental in many of our body’s metabolic actions. With aging, however, the levels of NAD+ typically decrease, possibly influencing a range of health factors. Introducing NAD+ through supplements might address some of these aging-related health challenges. Here are some researched advantages:
1. Cognitive Health Boost: The challenge of cognitive decline with age is prevalent. Research points to NAD+ maintenance as a potential method to counter age-driven cognitive setbacks. Through DNA and neuron repair, NAD+ supplements might fortify long-term brain health and operations.
2. Energizing the Body: The role of NAD+ in converting the food we eat into energy is vital. When its levels drop, our vigor might decline as well. Supplementation can thus rejuvenate our energy quotient and optimize metabolic functions.
3. Heart and Vascular Wellness: Issues like high blood pressure can strain our vascular system. Studies suggest NAD+ supplementation might fortify blood vessels, diminish inflammation, and ease rigidity in the aortic artery.
4. Balancing Cholesterol: NAD+ doesn’t just protect our heart, it’s also involved in fat metabolism, possibly leading to cholesterol regulation. This can reduce vascular obstruction risks. Some research even indicates that NAD+ precursors might prevent or revert lipid buildup, positioning them as potential remedies for dyslipidemia (abnormal lipid concentration in the blood).
5. Aiding in Weight Management: Aging can complicate weight regulation, in part because of shifts in metabolism moderated by NAD+. Some studies on animals have proposed that NAD+ supplements might resist weight increase, even amidst fat-rich diets.
6. Defending Against Neurological Disorders: Preliminary data indicates that NAD supplements might offer defense against conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. This defensive capacity may stem from NAD+’s antioxidative nature and its anti-inflammatory functions.
Though the prospects of NAD+ supplements are encouraging and seem safe for short-term use, it’s pivotal to recognize that their long-term impact remains not fully explored due to the brief nature of many clinical tests. Always consult a health expert prior to beginning any supplement routine.
Delving into Glutathione
Glutathione is produced naturally in our bodies as a formidable antioxidant made of three amino acids: glycine, glutamine, and cysteine. It primarily tackles the free radicals, which tend to multiply when our bodies encounter stress, illness, or toxins like alcohol.
However, as the sands of time pass or due to specific health hitches, our innate production of glutathione might diminish. Addressing this shortfall, ABC IV introduces glutathione supplements via intravenous (IV) delivery, ensuring cells receive this vital antioxidant armor. An extra “push” during the IV session is available for those desiring a heightened dose, administered by a qualified professional.
Dive into the potential perks of Glutathione:
1. Youthful Vitality and Holistic Health: Glutathione may counteract free radicals, possibly decelerating cell aging, taming inflammation, and bestowing a luminous skin glow. This might also translate to healthier tresses and nails.
2. Championing Cellular Vigor: Glutathione underscores cellular health by potentially eliminating toxins, such as hydrogen peroxide.
3. Premier Antioxidant Activity: Being omnipresent in every cell and ranking among the top antioxidants, glutathione is primed to thwart free radicals linked with aging and illness.
4. Exploring Cancer Dynamics: Some research intimates that while glutathione could impede cancer evolution, it might also render tumors less susceptible to chemotherapy. The relationship between glutathione and cancer is a buzzing research topic.
5. Shielding the Liver: Ailments like hepatitis or fatty liver disease pose threats to liver cells. Emerging studies spotlight glutathione’s role in minimizing harm, especially in conditions like nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, given its detox properties.
6. Enhancing Insulin Sensitivity: Observations note lowered glutathione levels in individuals grappling with insulin resistance. Thus, stabilizing these levels might be pivotal for type 2 diabetes management.
7. Potential Relief from Parkinson’s Symptoms: Some scholars believe that glutathione levels might impact Parkinson’s disease indicators, positing injections as a therapeutic pathway.
8. Possible Aid for Ulcerative Colitis: With its roots in oxidative stress, ulcerative colitis’s link to glutathione has been eyed in animal studies, suggesting its role in mending some colon damage.
9. Potential Implications for Autism Spectrum Disorders: Reports indicate lower glutathione levels in autistic children than in neurotypical counterparts. Some studies propose that glutathione supplements could temper certain autism-associated symptoms.
It’s paramount to emphasize that, while glutathione’s potential appears optimistic, it necessitates more expansive and rigorous research to ascertain its complete spectrum of benefits and any inherent risks.
